Undiscovered by most visitors to the city, a step down these places are just like discovering local areas. As most only sit around 8-10 customers at a time, it can be a little intimidating to enter on your own, but on this tour, you’ll be joined by a local guide! Let them introduce you to all the best places and help you navigate the language barrier as you eat, drink and chat to the friendly locals.

On this tour you’ll enjoy a drink of your choice and a plate of local food at three different styles of izakaya. Discover new favorits and learn to order like a pro!

Your guide will be waiting for you in front of the Starbucks Kokubuncho（Hotel Grand Terrace Kokubuncho).

They will be holding the ‘Tohoku Local Secret Tours’ sign:

After a quick introduction you will head to biggest night town area in Northeast Japan, Kokubuncho short walk.

Enjoy a walking tour through the alleyways, learning about the history of the area. Today’s first tavern has the atmosphere of a traditional Japanese restaurant root back since 1950.

Head to a different style of tavern and enjoy a second drink and some more food!

Not sure what to order? Your guide will tell you shop recommendations and teach you some useful words and tips for navigating your izakaya experience.

Lots of local foods transformed into western cuisine which local people loves.
